This rumor has been around for at least 10 years. The problem is not that Apple needs a Foundry but that it needs a company that is willing to spend the time and resources to develop the CPU's and support chips that Apple wants at a price that Apple can afford. Buying a company that would weigh it down with lots of physical property but hasen't been able to produce what Apple needs would be STUPID and Jobs is anything but STUPID. If they were going to invest money in buying a Company they should buy HP. Not for the computer Division, but the server division would give them enterence into many corporate IT departments, but for the Printer Division which would give Apple a continious cash stream with out having to invest the huge sums of money that they now invest in hardware that gives no or little return once it is sold. > >Anyone read the article on <http://www.mac360.com/> suggesting this >transition is just to hold Apple over for a while but they may buy Freescale >and start making their own chips? > >_______________________________________________ >Titanium mailing list >Titanium at listserver.themacintoshguy.com >http://listserver.themacintoshguy.com/mailman/listinfo/titanium > >Listmom is trying to clean out his closets!
