Dick - welcome, new-comer !  You have not joined the wrong List !

You just happened to have joined the List at a time when there is a 
considerable volume of discussion about the Apple decision to migrate 
to Intel chips.

This will of course affect Powerbooks, but the discussion has become:

(i)   [in my view] technically interesting
(ii)  more general, as the issues are high-level
(iii) somewhat overheated, due to stromg views and feelings,
      mercurial to say the least bordering on vitriolic at points.
