I wouldn't imagine so - for the same reasons that viruses are not common under Linux even when running on x86 processors. Viruses attack operating systems (or their components) not the processors. For some reason virus writers are more attracted to the near monopoly operating system - and this is only partly due to any inherently greater vulnerability. Of course, if the move to Intel results in a _hugely_ greater market share for OS X (which I doubt) then of course OS X may become more attractive to virus writers. --Ian On 23 Nov 2005, at 22:02, Loren wrote: > Just wondering, once MacOSX goes i386ish, will it become more > susceptible to Windows type viruses and vulnerable to a larger army of > viri-coders? > _______________________________________________ ---------------------------------------------------- Ian Collier ian.collier at mac.com +44 (0)121 472 2666 (cell) +44 (0)7866 510075 ---------------------------------------------------- -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
