Only recently have I started to do this kind of encoding on my Al PB 1.25, and I was initially surprised about the amount of time it takes. Right now I am encoding a 700 MB AVI (with the dreaded 'ms' audio track) to H.264 (using the free iSquint) and it is showing 7h for the conversion....!
