[Ti] 15" 1.5Ghz + 10.4.5 = no warm pluggable DVI

This has just started to happen since 10.4.5 (combo upgrade and  
permissions corrected)

When I connect a DVI to my Powerbook, while running, both screens go  
black and never come back.  I have to power down the machine uncleanly.

I have confirmed this with 2 different external monitors.


This process worked flawlessly before 10.4.5: I would  turn the  
Powerbook on and then connect the DVI (or connect it before I woke it  
up) and OS X would automatically recognize the external monitor and  
set it up to span both.


Anyone else been doing this?  Is it still working for you?  Any  
guesses what I can do to fix it?  I do this at least twice a day.
