[Ti] Applecare still recognised world wide?

Always has been for Powerbooks. Recently purchased an iMac G5 and 
purchased AppleCare for it. Was told that it was now covered 
worldwide. Now? I had assumed all AppleCare coverage was global 
regardless of machine. Turns out desktops weren't covered like 
Powerbooks.
