[Ti] G4 800 Ti: Screen goes "dark"

Beginning a few days ago, all of a sudden when I am working, the
screen goes dark like the machine has gone to sleep.  I try to wake it
up, but nothing happens.  Then, I push the power button and it
apparently shuts down, and I have to push it again and it reboots.

With previous PowerBooks, I remember something about "resetting the
PRAM."  I am getting a bit concerned because it has happened twice
already today.

Do any of you geniuses have a solution?
