[Ti] powerbook won't boot

hi

all of a sudden, my aluminium G4/1.5ghz powerbook won't boot. when i press
the power button, i get the chime, i can hear the hard drive spinning and
then the whole things fades into silence after 4 or 5 seconds.

i've tried booting into firewire target mode. didn't work. booting off of
the dvd didn't work either. i've reset the pmu, zapped the p-ram, etc.
i've even taken out the hard drive, put it in a case and plugged it into
my girlfriends ibook. luckily i was able to access it without any
problems.

any ideas?
