I think Barbara missunderstood you or mixed two issues

As already answered separately you have to have a full OS 10.4 DVD  
not the iMacs version.
When you have that DVD you can follow Barbara's suggestion A or C on  
the Tibook.

If you want materials from your Tibook on to the new iMac you will be  
asked about that if you connect you Tibook to the iMac as Barbara  
indicates in B.
