RAM is no problem. I have 512 and until now there was no problem with that. The problem is videoram I think. I use firefox and when I open or close a tab, is very slow to respond. And to switch between aplications with ALT+TAB, is slow too. The mac performance is very slow. It's a Powerbook Titanium 400Mhz, 8Mb video ram, 512 RAM. 2007/9/10, Bob Fowles <rbf at psu.edu>: > If RAM availability is a problem, then Dashboard > can be ignored and removed from the doc and never > used. > > In general if the machine is running slow, use > Activity Monitor or top under Terminal to see if > any apps are using too much CPU. > > Going to 10.4 was a nightmare for a while because > of the new searching mechanism Spotlight until > Apple fixed it in a later update.
