Another issue might be the connection. I"ve had a blue-tinted monitor a few times and that was caused by one of the VGA-pins in the connector being broken. I'm not sure whether you're using VGA or DVI, but I presume a bad connection in the wire can cause the same trouble as a bad connector. HTH, A.J.
