Not sure about the battery, but to answer your second question, what you need is a car power inverter. Do a google search on that and you'll turn up lots of them. You should be able to get a good one in the $30-60 range. They plug into your cigarette lighter and convert the DC to AC. They typically provide one or two outlets, just like you would find in your house. -patch
