QuickerTek wifi cards (was: Re: [Ti] why people use a tibook)

Ok, I'm a little confused (you know me).

I have Airport 9.52, according to my computer.  I do
have problems sometimes not picking up signals when
others show a strong signal.  Do the wi-fi cards just
slip in and work, or is there a lot of setup?  

Is the Airport version I have the same as everyone
else's with a 500 Ti?
