I second the suggestion to unplug the PRAM battery when your 'Book appears to be stone-dead. I've revived _dozens_ of machines that folks either gave away or sold dirt cheap, using this simple step. Unplugging on a DVI TiBook requires one to (IIRC) remove the bottom cover and remove optical drive.
