Hey, Probably not as it will create a dmg, or restore to a disk, your ext FW, and as long as the ext disk is set to APM, then all should be ok. For basic repairs there are issues with using disk utility from one OS version to another, but for this, it should be ok. My big question about this is I don't understand why your G4 won't just install using the DVD you have of Leopard directly as you G4 matches all the required specs, etc., it should work. I am going to look into something else for you that may help you with thiswill get back to you about that.
