I have a couple of Kensington Pilotmouse Bluetooth wireless mice. After<BR>
upgrading to Tiger, there were frequent times when after closing the lid, the<BR>
machine would reawake (though only partially) within a few seconds, or if it<BR>
stayed asleep, would not fully rewake (system active but screen black) upon<BR>
reopening elsewhere.<BR>

After many steps in a structured song-and-dance sleep-wake troubleshooting<BR>
session with an excellent Applecare fellow, who had seen this problem before,<BR>
we isolated it to the mouse.<BR>

If you are having similar problems, there may be a compatibility problem<BR>
between your mouse and PowerBook. The mouse is somehow maintaining a<BR>
connection with the system, but it doesn't quite trigger the proper response<BR>
in the system, so part of the PowerBook thinks it's awake and part of it<BR>
(e.g. the graphics system) thinks it's still asleep.<BR>

Kensington said there may be a Tiger compatibility problem that they are<BR>
investigating. Some of you may come across a similar problem with other brand<BR>
mice. The Apple Bluetooth mouse seems to behave OK. In the meantime, the<BR>
workaround is to pull one of the batteries out of the mouse before closing<BR>
the PowerBook lid.<BR>

WOW, excellent observation! I was thinking that I was the only one experiencing this weird problem. It's upsetting to assume that you're ok with the lid closed until you wake up the next morning and the computer is extremely HOT from being on, lid closed, ready to fry an egg it's that HOT!<BR>
My bluetooth mouse has a convenient on/off switch, so that will be my solution...but again, THANKS for the heads up! This newsgroup RULES!<BR>
