Terminal window placement

Is there a way to specify where a new Terminal window will appear 
when I type command-N?  Right now the new window appears "staggered" 
- with upper left corner slightly to the right and slightly below 
that of the current window.  I'd like it to appear alongside the 
current window with a minimum of overlap - there must be some because 
my screen won't display both without some overlap.

This has to be in FM somewhere - I just haven't seen it.
