From QuickTime for the Web: Yes, QT does recognize .png images (and nine other formats). You can also use GraphicConverter or the like to convert to one of the supported formats. You need to name the files with sequential frame numbers, and the frame number must be the only number in the filename. (eg. image1.png, image2.png, etc.) Put them in a folder and choose File > Open Image Sequence... Select the first image in the series and choose a frame rate. > Hi.
