Acrobat hangs at launch

I'm suddenly having a problem with Acrobat 5.0 (full version) hanging 
at launch.  It hangs when its downloading "web components" from Adobe - 
the one called AWEXfiles.txt  Its on a G4 running 10.2.6  Restart 
deleting plist files doesn't help.  I thought I could hit the cancel 
button on the download pop-up, but I can't hit it fast enough - it 
hangs every time and I have to force-quit acrobat.

Thoughts?
