VPC 5 vs Wireless

I have VPC 5/Win2K running on my eMac (wired) and can browse the web 
without problem.  I also have VPC 5/Win2K running on my TI Book (1GHz) 
which has wired and wireless access.  I cannot use VPC to browse the web on 
my TI Book (either wired or wireless).  The configuration of VPC seems to 
be the same on both systems but I haven't done an exhaustive check.  From 
what I remember, I did a standard installation of VPC/Win2K on both 
machines.  I have fixed IP addresses assigned on all my machines so do not 
have DHCP set up.  Has anyone got VPC running and surfing in a similar TI 
Book configuration?  If so, any suggestions as to what to tweak?  TIA
