Dave didn't mention it, but the GoLive list is (usually) very friendly, very helpful and very tolerant of newbie questions and FAQs. There's also a really useful archive with good search capability. Don't hesitate to join and ask. Dave is one of the many helpful folks over there. A couple of other ideas: build the animated gif to play through two or three times, but don't set it to loop endlessly. Or experiment with QuickTime. QT Pro ($30) automatically builds a movie out of stills. I've also built QuickTime movies using GoLive's QuickTime editor. One nice thing about this is that you can give the user the option of moving the slider to a particular part of the movie. If you're interested in getting into educational web sites over the longer haul, I'd recommend GoLive. It's cheap if you can get an educators discount, and worth the cost even if you can't. Worth the cost even if you never use half the features. Like Photoshop in that way. > John > > The GL list is hosted at > http://www.blueworld.com/blueworld/lists/golive.html > > The "looping is annoying" thang comes up when the animation is just a > graphic element on a page with no real purpose.
