It would appear that Drive 10 V1.4.1 will not optimize a drive if the drive has been formated with Mac OS Extended(Journaled) With Drive 10 V1.4.1 , when selecting Optimize Volume " a graphic is displayed saying--" File System journaling has been enabled. While you may analyze this volume, It is not available for optimization." How about that! In my case a real bummer! Panther's default installation formats the drive as "Mac OS Extended (journaled)" which Apple has pushed as a big plus! And both my bootup and backup drive(s ) have been installed/formated with "journaling". Is it possible that your "line of coders" can come up with a hack to make your Optimization stuff work with journaling enabled ? As all of my hard drives are presently "performing to perfection", I am very reluctant to go thru the reformat and reinstall process, etc. Thanks for your time albert
