John, You can use AOL as a dial-up ISP without using their interface. Just open any browser after you're connected and surf away. You could put a shortcut to aol mail on the desktop, if you really want to use it. You also might think about having the AOL mail forwarded to a web based email address. I'm not sure, but I'd be surprised if AOL didn't offer some kind of forwarding. Judy Antipin "i know it's sort of sickening notion. but my sweetie now has a mac and we are having lots of trouble with aol. i was wondering if there was a way to configure Mail so she could use it as her email client and just pull the messages from the dread and evil AOL without having to use their fr*%$!king interface." ---------- Check out the Mac OS X email list FAQ http://www.themacintoshguy.com/lists/X.html To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <X-Apps-off at lists.themacintoshguy.com> To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail to <X-Apps-digest at lists.themacintoshguy.com> Need help from a real person?
