I have a M-Audio Audiophile 2496 in my Quicksilver G4 working fine under Panther. M-Audio do a whole range of PCI sound cards and as far as I know they are OS X compatible. http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=products.list&ID=pciinterfaces is the link to their PCI card page. They also do a 7.1 surround card on the consumer products page and all the drivers are available online to check compatibility. Hope this is helpful, even if a little late.
