Right off the bat, I would suspect that you don't have enough hard 
drive space. I did a 29 minute DVD a few months back and hung out a lot 
at the Apple iDVD list <http://discussions.info.apple.com/>

The #1 reason for the app quitting was not enough HD space. My project 
took up most of my 80 gig drive, and the pros suggest not even thinking 
about trying to do a project with less than 20 gig.
