"Paint" and "Draw" programs for OS X?

Hi all:

Can anyone recommend simple, easy-to-use bitmapped "painting" and 
vector "drawing" software for OS X?

I miss the simplicity of MacPaint and MacDraw.  Yes, I have and use 
Photoshop and OmniGraffle, but they are way overkill for 90% of the 
quick and dirty drawings I need to do.  I have Corel Draw for OS 9, but 
I'd rather use an OS X-native application.

Shareware or commercial recommendations are fine.
