Classic mode printing

I can not print in classic mode. I have an Epson 880 printer. I am using OS
10.2.4 and OS 9.2.2. Office 2001 is the software that I am trying to use. I
have reinstalled printer software and gone to chooser in classic mode as
well as after I started up in OS 9.2.2.
I would like suggestions. What should I try now? The Apple site was not much
help.
