Plain old RAM. There are some bizarre no-name DIMMs out there which
turn out to be not-quite-right. Your best bet is to purchase
aftermarket RAM from whomever is reputable on your side of the pond.
UK'ers? Also, use the online configurators when ordering.

Just for comparison, here in the US:
From the Apple Store, adding 768MB = $300.
 From 1-800-memory 1GB = $199 .
 From crucial.com: $250.

Pricing from various vendors:

Buying from anywhere else has one side effect: You wind up with a
superfluous 256MB module, which you can sell, keep in reserve, pop
into another machine, etc.

This is assuming you buy the high-end eMac. If you buy the CD-ROM/128MB
model, your Apple 1GB will run $350, and you'll end up with an extra
128MB module if you buy elsewhere.

Note: This is the closest to reality I've seen Apple RAM prices in a
long time.
Even so, I think I'd rather order RAM elsewhere , even if it only saves
$100 or so. I can (and more often than not do) find better things to
blow a hundred on. Worst than can happen is you might have to pull out
the extra RAM to troubleshoot (rare).
