Meaning you did a complete reinstall of OSX? I'm just not sure you why you threw away the system folder. You can do an "archive and install" with the Jag CD that gives a clean install... Jag should have installed by default the driver for your HP printer, unless you told Jag not to do it. Or, perhaps it was in the system folder and didn't get recreated...It's also on HP's site. If I were you, I'd do an archive and install from the Jag CD and then follow this article from MacWorld: http://www.macworld.com/2002/10/features/install/ David Crandon ruthv at pluto.njcc.com wrote: > > david, > i installed jaguar on the same hard drive that already had os 9.2 on it. > i had two system folders: os 9's called "System Folder" and os x's > called "System". after a successful install, i made some uncorrectable > changes in os x. the way i fixed it was to drag "System" to the trash > and then to reinstall. > now i change the startup disk when i need an os 9 app or when i need to > print. i can't find an os x driver for my hp870cxi. > ruth > > David Crandon wrote: > > >What?! > > > >ruthv at pluto.njcc.com wrote: > > > > > >>i dragged the folder "System" to the trash. > >> > >> > >> > >> > >>> > >>> > > ---------- > Check out the Mac OS X email list FAQ > http://www.themacintoshguy.com/lists/X.html > > To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <X-Newbies-off at lists.themacintoshguy.com> > To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail to <X-Newbies-digest at lists.themacintoshguy.com> > Need help from a real person?
