[X Newbies] 10.2.3 and Drop Down Menus

I realize this is no real help, but mine still do after the upgrade to 
10.2.3. I wasn't able to find any preference setting controlling this. 
My assumption is that you have some third party software conflicting. 
Just wanted to report that this is not a return to system 7 behavior.
