>How do you change your swapdisk ? I haven't seen that option in System prefs. No, quite right. I used SwapCop, can be found via Versiontracker. >I have one Gig of RAM but - since until a couple of weeks ago, >everyone told you to partition your disk - my OSX is on a 5 Gig >partitiion. How do I change my swapdisk to use the other 115 Gig >partition ? I haven't got the time to reformat right now... When I partitioned my disk (ages ago, it seems now..:-) I left 2 GB for OSX. That's a bit on the small side, I realise now. When I do it again I will make it larger, 5 GB I think. But on the other hand I try to keep all programs on another disk, not together with OSX. Only those that really insists on installing on system disk go there. That's why I can make it with only 2 GB. I had aproximately 600 MB free for swaps, and did alright until the strange problem (with to many swapfiles) accured. How much free space have you got? But I totally agree with Bill Reburns post on changing swapdisk, don't do it just for fun. I did it, because I had to try something because "something" (turned out to be finder) made my system produce many swapfiles, so I had to get a larger area for swaps. But I would not put them together with ordinary files, that would increase fragmentation a lot, I think. / Vicki -- Vicki Schalin
