Charles, Geneva is a proportional font. Monaco and Courier are two monospaced fonts that go back to the very earliest days of the Mac. Monaco was the bit-mapped font seen on the original Mac 128K machine and Courier was the Postscript font first seen on the Mac when the original Laserwriter was released, if I remember correctly.
