[X Newbies] Switching to Mail finally

I have both large size (170MB) and large number (5000+) and don't have 
problems with either.  The one with 5000+ takes closer to a full second 
than other mailboxes with fewer mails; however, it's never long enough 
that I feel like I'm waiting.

I don't see why not.  You would just have to set up accounts for each 
in Mail > Preferences > Accounts.  Under the Advanced menu for each, 
there are options to "enable this account" and "include when 
automatically checking for mail" that you may or may not want enabled.
