Document Extensions

Hi,
This is a little OT as it pertains mainly to OS9 and
Windows XP. I just got some files from a client to whom
I made a personal visit yesterday and noted that his
images for his website had no extensions. So I added
them.
Today, he sent me by email said images and they have double
extensions, e.g. image002.gif.gif
So I guess I'll take the latter extensions off all of 'em.
Just looking for what's happening here so I have
a general idea.
I have a feeling from working part-time in this industry
for quite awhile that I have the hang, and then I realize
suddenly I don't at all. Ha ha.
