Your PC is probably better at automatically configuring its ethernet than your Mac is. You might try the Broadband Optimizer startup item (free) or adjusting your ethernet manually (System Preferences >Network>Show: Built-in Ethernet>Ethernet>Configure:Manually). Most Macs I've met default to simplex, while your DSL modem/router and PC are more likely to be set to duplex (and 100 Mb). Whenever possible, having all the players on a network set the same is generally best.
