One way to show tolerance and respect for the differing opinions of others is to leave the political comments completely out of a forum created to discuss technical issues. > Or they can stay and accept that we're all different, and, by doing > so, try > to introduce (for once) a meaningful change. It seems to me that if accepting differences were truly the highest goal, then one wouldn't feel compelled to "enlighten" others with controversial political sigs, and the issue wouldn't even come up. > On a side line - objecting to anybody's political statement is a > political statement in itself. Certainly - so why is it so hard to imagine that a technical forum have posts on a technical topic, or clearly marked "OT: MP3 issues" ? - instead of mixing in material that derides a particular point of view, while claiming that others should tolerate it in the name of respecting diverse opinions. Anyone who really respected the opinions of others wouldn't post those kind of tag lines. SR
