Spell Check for Mac Mail

Hello everyone.

My question:
   How does spell check work for Mac mail?
When I say Mac mail I am referring to the mail program on Mac,
not the web based mail browser on the .mac website.

When I type an eMail, the incorrectly spelled words
are underlined but no suggested spelling comes up like other mail 
programs.

THIS GROUP IS GREAT! Yes I am yelling. I can't say it
loud enough how much help this group has been since I joined it.
