[X-Newbies] Terminal problem WAS: Opener Malware

Have you disabled one or another of th fonts supplied with the 
system? I have a vague memory of a missing font resulting in the 
problem you describe. I'm on a train as I type this so I'd suggest 
Googling for more info.
