Thierry, If you want to read a Dvix file you might want to try VLC (VideoLan CLient) as a test I downloaded a file earlier today and VLC played it seamlessly. As to your reply, later today I will put your recommendation to the test (since my short test film is only about 10 minutes in length and Ive already verified my media (DVD+RW) in my player).
