[X-Newbies] A B&W G3 question

Is anyone here running X.3 Panther on a B&W 300 mhz Rev 1
version machine?  Two different X copies refuse to install
on four different machines.  I'm thinking a software issue
as opposed to a Bad disk or bad machine.

Any ideas of how to succeed.  Its only a system install for
cryin out loud.  BTW, they are NOT pirated CD's, just the
normal black ones with the X on them.
