[X-Newbies] Canon MX310

In my new office I inherited this Canon MX310 all-in-one printer.

Some generic drivers worked to make the printer function but the ink  
did not print.

When looking for drivers I could only find some on a Euro website.

Then I read about problems.

I cannot afford to mess up my laptop.. has anyone any experience with  
this printer?

I've been using Epson cx4600 and cx6000 all-in-ones at home with no  
problems.
