Hi Ed, the message indicates that the set home directory is not found correctly. This can be due to several causes: - wrong configuration of share point (make it automount, etc.) - wrong configuration of home directory (cannot be local!, has to be on a sharepoint) - sometimes a plain Unix directory is created when a specific directory cannot be found. If that happens, the sharepoint can get mounted on a different name, like the share name, concatenated with a '1' or so, which is obviously not correct and will not be recognized for the home directory. To get rid of that, check the client machine with a csh or so and check the /Network/Servers/<andsoon> where the mount would normally go to see if there is something wrong there. Can get pretty annoying to get rid of the parasite if it is there. Better get a good grip of some basic Unix commands to do that. The trouble is that if anything no matter how small is not exactly correct, it will refuse to work. good luck, sytse >Digest list here, so forgive me if this is a repeat, but... >I'm trying to set up home folders for users on the OS X Server >itself with no luck.
