In fact I've used it over dialup like this. A free alternative is VNC (at the server end it runs as an application, search versiontracker for the various versions), although no B+W option, 256 colours works okay on low bandwidth... VNC doesn't have any of the management functions that ARD does but these are not very useful unless you have lots of computers to control and once you've got screen control you can do anything you need to anyway. One point at which VNC falls down is as it runs as an app you can't log in and out using it. // Jacob
