If you start Auto-replying to lists, make sure you have a bomb-safe house, as a lot of people will then get quite angry! When that is said, a simple rule in mail can do the trick. Make sure the Match rules contain: - Header X-Listserver or Header X-Autogererated should NOT be pressent. - Message is addressed to you. Make sure it's evaluated AFTER the SPAM rule or other rules filing your List-mails. Then make it Reply with a message... The better way would be to make the Vacation rule fire off an AppleScript than does the processing, and can add the FROM address to a aray so each FROM only get's a Vacation message ONCE. Hope it helps... PS: Why even send out vacation messages for a 3 day leave? ____________________________________________ Jakob Peterhänsel Network Consultant Tel: +45 7022 1014 Fax: +45 7022 1013 Mob: +45 22 68 49 61 jp at netpoint.com www.NetPoint.com On 23. apr 2004, at 3:03, Richard wrote: > Is there a way, to do auto responding? > via a Rule in the Apple Mail app. ( 3rd party app? ) > > Going on Vacation, next week, > and so there a couple of lists, I need to auto reply > back, with a text message, saying out of the office, > for 3 days.. > > Anyone? > > TIA > Richard > > > ---------- > Check out the Mac OS X email list FAQ > http://www.themacintoshguy.com/lists/X.html > > To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <X-Unix-off at lists.themacintoshguy.com> > To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail to > <X-Unix-digest at lists.themacintoshguy.com> > Need help from a real person?
