It usually goes through a router (Airport), but, based on your advice, I
will connect my powerbook directly to the DSL modem with the ethernet cable.
The ISP uses PPPoE, and I have configured the Mac to do the PPPoE and it
works.  So now, do I just look in /var/log/something...?
