[X-Unix] Which Window manager/Desktop Environment

Sometime in April Victor Eijkhout assaulted the keyboard and produced:

I personally don't prefer them, but I do see a point for them. While fvwm2
is speedy, I prefer xfce. I might be a little slower, but it achieves the
balance between speed and functionality. KDE is great for people who are
familiar with windows and want similar functionality.  

| And fink works pretty good on average. I had a conflict between some 
| packages a while ago, but the guys on the mailing lists are very 
| helpful in overcoming that sort of thing.

I've also had positive experiences with the fink lissts.
