When I first saw it in a place far, far away and long, long ago, I thought sudo should be said the same way as pseudo, since I figured it was a unix pun as you were pretending to be root, thus pseudo/sudo (super user do [something]) root. -- Speak softly, study Aikido, & you won't need to carry a big stick!
