Your $3-5000 G5 doesn't even come close to comparing to a $399 PC. An equivalent PC costs very close to the same price, if not substantially more. If nothing else, the G5 is a 64 bit computer and the $399 one is dumbed-down 32bit system. Intel's 64 bit CPUs (ignoring the fact that they don't work) are the most expensive on the planet.
