[X-Unix] Running fsck on a target disk

My MDD freezes up after about 2 minutes. If I bring the disk up in target
mode, I can access it. I talked to a Mac tech at my local authorized
repair shop and he said it sounds like a DIMM problem rather than a disk
problem. I will try that tonight.

Why? You should be using the diskutil command in the Terminal app or just
running Disk Utility->repair disk. See
<http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214>, which explicitly
states: Note: If you're using Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you should use Disk
Utility instead of fsck, whenever possible.", and
<http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302672>, for details on
repairing disks.
