My MDD freezes up after about 2 minutes. If I bring the disk up in target mode, I can access it. I talked to a Mac tech at my local authorized repair shop and he said it sounds like a DIMM problem rather than a disk problem. I will try that tonight. -Thom Original Message: ----------------- From: John Baltutis baltwo at san.rr.com Date: Mon, 24 Jul 2006 15:24:20 -0700 To: x-unix at listserver.themacintoshguy.com Subject: Re: [X-Unix] Running fsck on a target disk On 07/24/06, "tholland at san.rr.com" <tholland at san.rr.com> wrote: > > Can I bring up a disk in target mode and then run fsck on it? See <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214>, which explicitly states: Note: If you're using Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you should use Disk Utility instead of fsck, whenever possible.", and <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302672>, for details on repairing disks. _______________________________________________ X-Unix mailing list X-Unix at listserver.themacintoshguy.com http://listserver.themacintoshguy.com/mailman/listinfo/x-unix Listmom is trying to clean out his closets!
