[X-Unix] rsync and openvpn woes

Hey folks,

I've got a number of openvpn tunnels setup with Tunnelblick.  In  
addition, as I've posted previously, I've got a backup script that  
runs via cron at */6 every day to backup my home directory and  
applications directory.  My problem is that, every time the backup  
script starts, my openvpn connection dies.  I'm wondering if anyone  
has any insight.
